Skin Saver Vitamin E

For me, Vitamin E has been a real life-saver, or should I say skin-saver? Getting chicken-pox at the age of 22 and a week before a life changing interview is enough to knock any girl’s confidence. Along with the sky-high temperature and side effects including “sudden death” (OK perhaps I should’nt have been googling so much!), one of the worst aspects of all was that the pox were all over my face.

At the prospect of missing my interview AND being scarred for life, I went on a health offensive, I ate as many fruit and vegetables as I could and drank gallons of water. But whilst I knew this would help to speed up my recovery, it wouldn’t necessarily save my skin, for that I turned to Vitamin E.

Tocopherol is a Vitamin E rich chemical compound which has been clinically proved to combat stretch-marks, scars and wrinkles. It is a superhero of vitamins, an effective antioxidant which helps protect from free radical damage to your skin which can be caused by harsh environments such as UV ray and pollution exposure. So if you’re looking to protect your skin from sun damage take a look at Nature’s Basin’s range of organic sunscreens that contain Tocopherol.

However, luckily for me, the beneficial properties of Vitamin E do not end at skin protection; it also helps to heal skin by promoting cell rejuvenation. In my case the damage had already occurred but through daily use of natural skincare products that contain Vitamin E (I really did buy them all!) my skin has healed and the scars are continually fading, after a month they were barely visible at all. So whether it be acne scars, age spots, stretch marks or wrinkles, Vitamin E has restorative properties to promote healing and rejuvenation of your skin.  It also keeps skin hydrated by strengthening the skin’s barrier function to prevent water loss, this will leave you with fresh, dewy and most importantly healthy skin. By moisturizing your skin you are softening it and allowing it to stretch thus it is also an effective way to prevent stretch marks (take a look at Natural and Organic Baby Care products for stretch mark creams).

In addition to healing damaged skin and preventing sun damage and burns, Vitamin E can also be used to treat current skin damage such as sun burns and skin conditions. Vitamin E enables skin to maintain a healthy oil balance which is essential for effective skin cleansing and repairing. So whatever your skin complaint, you are sure to find your ideal product in Nature’s Basin’s large selection of natural sunscreens and organic skincare products which contain Vitamin E.

And yes I passed the interview! With a little help from my secret weapon, Vitamin E based natural skincare products and a little cover-up from organic makeup which also contained Tocopherol.

  1. One can get rid of a new Stretch Mark quickly with a regular massaging routine; however the older ones require a great amount of exfoliation and lubrication. Once the rough and dead skin is removed, Stretch Marks do start to fade away.

  2. Good to know you took the natural path in treating your scars. I always advice my readers the same, instead of going for chemical products.
