My Favorite Looking Holiday Gifts

We are lucky we understand the importance of natural and organic for our body and health and that of our family's. But holiday gifts have also got to be gorgeous to look at, something to fall in love with on first sight. Following are my favorite looking gifts because sometimes looks do matter ;)

Babassu Sugar Rub

Babassu Sugar Rub is my absolute favorite for three reasons. Its indulgent packaging and presentation, the fact that its a sugar rub and called a sugar rub and last but not the least because of its gorgeous babassu ingredient. This jar of indulgent creamy body scrub smells gorgeous and is made from raw sugar and babassu oil both of which are excellent for exfoliating and moisturizing the skin. Babassu is indigenous to the Amazon and is harvested by Braziliant women's cooperative which makes this product a fair-trade.

Professional Brush set by Suki
or
6 piece ultimate brush set by Christopher Drummond

Both Suki Professional Brush Set and Christopher Drummond Ultimate 6-piece Brush Set are absolutely gorgeous and come nicely packed in an elegant black case that make them easy to kept safe in a handbag, drawer or cupboard anywhere. They neatly assemble your favorite brushes that you will need for perfect makeup application. Both Suki and Christopher Drummond brushes are made from high quality, cruelty-free fibres while all of Christopher Drummond products are vegan-approved as well.

Organic Creative Eye Color System by NVEY ECO

This eye palette by NVEY ECO is my all-time favorite, its my first choice on an every day basis, while going out and even for parties. The palette is so cleverly put together, I would close my eyes and buy these any day. They come in a beautiful, sleek black case and the colors chosen in each palette complement each other and every skin tone perfectly. The pigmentation of the eye colors is great and the best part about organic cosmetics is that they stay on longer and easily applicable. The colors come on great on skin as well!

A honey of an ingredient!

It's sticky and delicious. But honey is not only sweet to eat, it's a sweet ingredient for your skin. Honey works as a humectant. Like glycerin and other product powerhouses, it takes moisture from the air and brings it to your skin—making it great for evolved complexions that can often look dehydrated. Honey also contains AHAs that help get rid of dead skin cells, leaving your skin looking renewed.

But since honey is food for bees as well as people—they eat it through the winter when flowers aren't in bloom—this magical ingredient is rich in a variety of healthy compounds, like amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients help the skin heal and regenerate cells. Honey fights bacteria, too. You'll find it throughout natural skin care: in hydrating lotions and masks to improve the skin's hydration and in all manner of soaps and washes to keep them moisturizing.

At Nature's Basin, we offer two lines with a very special honey from bees that feed on native New Zealand manuka blossoms. Look for honey in Living Nature Rich Day Cream and Ultra Nourishing Mask, two great products for dried and tried winter skin. Natural Being blends it into Manuka Honey Eye Cream and Manuka Hand & Body Cream, excellent products for every day no matter the season. Honey is good for the hair, too: Hamadi uses it in its Honey and Soymilk Hair Wash.

My sister is super-glam and I know cosmetics would make the best gifts for her always. I want to make sure my gift to her is pure of artificial ingredients, top quality yet eco-friendly, and just the right for her look.

Christopher Drummond's organic products are long-lasting, easy-to-wear and I love his message "less is more." I am definitely buying Christopher Drummond Natural Eyeshadows and Natural Mascara for my sister.

Beautiful Best Friend

We all have a friend who loves keeping her bathroom prim and pretty. My best friend loves indulgent products in her guest restroom, near her own bath and even near the kitchen sink.

The perfect gift for her are these very hydrating, beautifully scented and equally indulging Organic Babassu Soap Bar and Living Natural Body Bar. I am going to put them in a basket and gift them to her!

Special Someone

Lastly for that special someone, you want to make sure you give something romantic and indulgent that adds an extra spark to your life. Your special someone is sure to adore this Relaxing Organic Massaging Oil from Suzanne Aux Bains. Pamper your loved one with this gift perfect even for bath and shower.

Or you could choose to get some time out from the kids, pour this indulging Organic Mommy & Daddy Bath Essence Oil into your jacuzzi and spend some special moments this holiday season with your loved one. Another sure winner!

PS: Too spoiled for choice? Try giving a Nature's Basin Gift Certificate and spend a tension-free count down up to Xmas! You can't get wrong with that!

A time to nourish

Why use a facial oil?

If you’re the type to use lighter products in the summer months, by now you should have switched, as your skin may already be suffering from the effects of winter’s cold weather. Having the heat on indoors helps us all cope with the season’s chill, but going from that warm air out into the elements can complicate things even more for your delicate face. So, now is a perfect time to add an extra treatment to your regimen. Look for skin care products that will hydrate but also soothe and heal, with ingredients such as calendula and helichrysum.
You can boost your skin’s moisture quotient with a potent serum—or try a facial oil. A common skin care myth is that you should avoid oils on the face, but since skin is oil-loving, you get hydrated more deeply with a product rich in natural oils. Just  choose the right oils: jojoba oil, for example, closely mimics our skin’s natural oils, so it doesn’t cause break outs. Because they can leave a residue that makes putting on makeup tough, facial oils are best used at night.
The difference with serums? You can use them day and night, as they are light and designed to absorb rapidly into the skin. And they're a great way to get in the anti-oxidants that help fight daily environmental damage.

Shop now for a natural skin care product to up your hydration factor.
