Saved by the Lip Balm

Here in Northern California we’re on the eve of our biggest storm so far this winter, and that has everyone excited about getting up to nearby Lake Tahoe to hit the slopes. The chill in the air and the brisk winter breeze has me thinking about gearing up, and I’m never without a good lip balm on the mountain. In fact, I have lip balm at the ready nearly everywhere: in my purse, at my desk, by my bed, in my makeup drawer, and in the car (both glove box and console).

You might think I’m addicted, but the real reason I always keep lip balm around is that our lips don’t have sweat or oil glands, so we need a product to seal in moisture and make sure they stay soft and supple. Thankfully, Nature’s Basin has a great selection of natural and organic lip balm based in healing ingredients, like the Creamy Cocoa Stick from Badger, which is smooth, not waxy, and feels totally refreshing on your lips, and Pangea Organics Italian Red Mandarin with Rose Lip Balm

This is the Organic Lip Balm which won best natural lip care from Real Simple magazine.
